About Alexander

"I've always felt it's important to support the community that supports me."

When he's not cutting hair, Alexander, a talented South Florida-based hairdresser and salon owner, certainly does "give back". Over the past sixteen years, Alexander has donated countless hours of his time, giving haircuts to women in domestic violence recovery programs. By request, he also produces customized seminars, for civic groups, women's and social service organizations and small businesses where he is a popular public speaker on the topic of image and inner beauty.

Over the years, Alexander says, he has heard far too many heartbreaking stories of physical and emotional abuse. Most of them did not come from the stereotypical image of a domestic violence victim. But rather, says Alexander, the stories came from - educated, successful, attractive, kind, generous, caring women, and often ... their kids.  Extraordinary women - who somehow found themselves stuck in horrific and often terrifying circumstances.

Alexander conceived and launched his Cycle-to-Break-the-Cycle charity bike ride  campaign in 2006.  A 2,000-plus mile journey on his recumbent bicycle - - pedaling along the Atlantic coast, from Key West, Florida to Bar Harbor, Maine. His goal - To raise awareness and funds for woman and children who are affected by domestic violence.
